Reason Orbit is a place to share your own notes and openly licensed material. This page explains what you can upload, how uploads are reviewed, and how rights holders can have material removed.

What you can share

• Notes, guides and documents you wrote yourself.
• Material that is openly licensed (for example Creative Commons) or in the public domain.
• Material you have written permission from the rights holder to share.

Don’t upload commercial books, paid courses, textbooks or exam material you don’t own the rights to, even if copies are available elsewhere online.

How uploads are reviewed

Every upload requires the uploader to confirm they have the right to share it. Documents shared before that confirmation existed are paused: their pages stay visible, but reading, downloading and search indexing are disabled until our team reviews them. Documents that turn out to be infringing are taken down.

Reporting infringement

If you own the rights to material on Reason Orbit and want it removed, email support@reasonorbit.com with the subject “Copyright notice” and include:

1. Your name, postal address, telephone number and email address.
2. A description of the copyrighted work you believe is infringed.
3. The Reason Orbit URL(s) of the material you want removed.
4. A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorised by the rights holder, its agent or the law.
5. A statement that the information in your notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the rights holder or authorised to act on their behalf.
6. Your physical or electronic signature.

You can also use the Report button on any document page. We remove material covered by a valid notice and let the uploader know.

Counter-notices

If your upload was removed and you believe that was a mistake (for example, you wrote it or it is openly licensed), email the same address with the removed URL, an explanation, your contact details, a statement under penalty of perjury that you believe the material was removed by mistake, and your signature.

Repeat infringement

Accounts that repeatedly upload infringing material will be suspended.
